Caledonian International School, Pathankot, in collaboration with the City One Initiative, proudly organized an enriching Bal Panchayat Simulation for students of MYP 1 to 3. This innovative initiative was designed to immerse young learners in the democratic process at the grassroots level by simulating the workings of a local Panchayat. Through this interactive experience, students stepped into the roles of Sarpanch, Ward Members, and community stakeholders, gaining a firsthand understanding of governance, public administration, and community problem-solving.

The simulation served as a powerful platform for students to explore real-world rural issues such as education, sanitation, waste management, and women’s empowerment. By researching, debating, and proposing actionable solutions, students developed critical thinking, communication, and leadership skills. It also encouraged empathy and civic responsibility, reinforcing the importance of community participation in nation-building.

This initiative reflects Caledonian International School’s commitment to holistic education and global citizenship. By connecting classroom learning to societal challenges, the Bal Panchayat Simulation enabled students to become informed, responsible, and proactive members of society. The event was met with great enthusiasm and appreciation, laying the foundation for future programs that encourage youth engagement in democratic processes and social transformation.
